The estate Vallebuia is situated 250 metres up in the Sienese hills, a few kilometres from San Gimignano, in Tuscany. Of the 13 hectares, 4 are reserved for wine production and the rest are old established woodland and olive groves.

The majority of wine production at Vallebuia is concentrated on "La Tosca", a Super-Tuscan based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged in French oak barrels.

History of Vallebuia
In 1987, after taking on an abandoned estate with an expired permission for half a hectare of Vernaccia and for 1000sqm of Chianti we decided to plant three and a half hectares of the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines in the Valdelsa area with the hope and dream of creating our very own Super-Tuscan which we named "La Tosca".Technical Sheet of La Tosca - Click here

Vallebuia is a member of the Association of Producers of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Italy's first DOC white wine.

About 4,000 bottles are made each year on the estate on a small hill area of tufo (chalky soil) on which the Vernaccia vine thrives.

Our Vernaccia is very lightly oaked in French barrels and is best comsumed within 2 years.
