VINTAGE 2003

GRAPES - 100% Vernaccia di San Gimignano

CLIMATE VINTAGE - The year 2003 was the hottest year on record which brought with it a different set of problems. Many of the grapes were damaged by the lack of water and the burning sun so our quantity of grapes was drastically reduced due to very selective picking by hand.

VINIFICATION
- The grapes were gently pressed and the must was then cooled to 10°C in order to induce clarification, and racked into new French oak barrels. The alcoholic fermentation took place and then the wine remained with its own lees for about 6 months.

TASTE - This pale gold wine has well-balanced aromas which linger in the mouth and has a fruity flavour with a definate but light taste of oak. A delicious wine for any occasion apart from red meat.
